The fourth generation Hilux was launched with a new design in 1983. The pick-up was available with a 6 inch option for extra space in the cabin. Later, it received a facelift that included minor exterior improvements like the addition of a bumper and a grille.
Fifth Generation was introduced in 1988 with minor improvements. The only difference that was noticeable was the larger wheelbase. The sixth generation Hilux, which was produced from 1999 to 2005, was the last model produced for the Japanese market.
The seventh and eighth generation Hilux were manufactured outside Japan. These generations were modernized and had better technology. In 2015, the name “Revo’ was introduced for eighth generation. It was available with the trim Hilux Revo Rocco, which featured a different front design as well as different fog lamps. In 2020, it received a facelift with minor improvements to the exterior and interior and safety features.
